    About this calculator

    SCFM is measured at a standard reference (typically 14.696 PSIA, 68°F, 0% humidity). ACFM is the actual volumetric flow at your operating pressure and temperature. Compressors are rated in SCFM (or ICFM); air-using equipment specs are sometimes in ACFM. Mixing them up leads to undersized systems.

    Higher altitude or higher temperature both reduce air density, so the same mass of air takes up more actual volume (higher ACFM for a given SCFM).

    ACFM = SCFM × (Pstd / Pact) × (Tact / Tstd), with all temperatures in Rankine (°F + 460).
