    About this calculator

    Pump-up time is useful for two things: verifying a new installation meets spec, and diagnosing performance loss on an existing compressor. A pump-up time that's much longer than calculated usually means worn valves, leaking check valves, or a clogged inlet filter.

    This assumes a single-stage isothermal fill and the compressor's rated CFM — actual real-world times will be 5–15% longer.
